Western Michigan became bowl eligible last Wednesday night by beating Miami,(OH) 24-21 at Yager Stadium. Offensively the Broncos rolled up 471 total yards, with 429 of those coming on the arm of Alex Carder, who had his third-straight 400-yard game and fourth of the season. He threw three TDs in a game for the fifth time in 2011. Miami's junior quarterback Zac Dysert also broke school-record book totals by completing 42 passes to eclipse Ben Roethlisberger's previous record of 40 against Hawai'i in 2001. Sophomore Redhawks' WR Nick Harwell( #8 in picture above) notched his eighth 100-yard receiving game, breaking Martin Nance's record for most 100-yard receiving games in a single season. Harwell ended the night with 14 catches for 138 yards and all three Miami touchdowns.
